In her eight+ years working as a financial planner, Lanette developed expertise in all areas of financial planning, including client financial analyses and reviews, retirement planning, Social Security, risk management, estate planning, and debt management. She also modified processes and developed standard operating procedures for her firm, focusing on improving completeness, accuracy, ease-of-use, and efficiency as fundamentals that positively affect the client experience. Through her knowledge, patience, and empathetic coaching approach she also became a valued trainer and mentor for junior planners.

Optimizing Technology Platforms and Efficiencies

Building on a successful 15-year career implementing and customizing information technology systems for biotech and pharmaceutical companies, Lanette combines hands-on work with deep technology experience to select, implement, customize, and maintain financial IT software systems to extract efficiencies, improve ease-of-use, and train users.

Much of Lanette's extensive technology background involved integrating business needs with technological capabilities and efficiencies, acting as liaison (and translator) between business-people and IT professionals, and rolling up her sleeves to figure out how to get the most out of technology-based business solutions. She brings that experience to bear on software commonly used in financial planning firms such as Salesforce-XLR8, eMoney, Orion, Schwab Alliance, Social Security Analyzer, Tax Clarity, Holistaplan, FP Alpha, and fpPathfinder.  She was a member of her financial planning firm's Technology Committee and was deeply involved in the development and modification of her firm's IT infrastructure and in training planners on the systems.
